Sim Dancers at Duffus Castle, Scotland in 2017

Welcome to
Sim School of Highland Dance

Welcome to Sim School of Highland Dance!

Established in 1991, the Sim School of Highland Dance enrolls dancers ranging in age from 3 to adult.  Classes are offered for both recreational and competitive dancers.

Dancers travel from considerable distance to enjoy classes at our Embro studio. It's worth the drive for quality instruction!  The studio operates upon the basic principle of personal goal setting and respect for others. Our success is attained through persistence and appreciation of skill development.

Dance is an amazing facility to teach children character, discipline and passion. Our staff look forward to working with our dancers this year!

Welcome to all of our Sim School dancers, families and friends!

Please make sure that you come properly attired and equipped for class. Hair must be pulled back and tidy (buns are encouraged).

Dancers should come with knee socks and ghillies for highland classes, practice skirts for national classes, and their kilts and hose for kilt week! All dancers (except Primary 6 and under) will also require ankle weights. Don't forget your notebook and pen!

The Loft is open for parents who are vaccinated. We have a camera in the studio so parents can see the progress of their dancers. This helps us to minimize class disruptions.

COVID-19 Notes

If you are feeling unwell or have COVID-19 symptoms, please do not enter the studio.  Let Sherry know if you are unable to attend class.

Winter Weather

Embro can be a bit of a tricky drive when winter weather hits.  When winter weather affects our class schedule, Sherry will advice through Facebook when classes are cancelled, and if optional classes will be offered through Zoom.  Please make note that when you are doing class remotely, that you should have a suitable area available, clear from furniture, pets and other obstacles, so that your dancers can still practice safely!

FALL 2023 and WINTER 2023-2024 CLASSES are underway!

As the summer season has wound down for another year, we are thrilled to welcome our highland dancers back to the studio for the fall! Local competitions, show opportunities and demonstrations continue throughout the school year, and regular attendance in the studio helps to keep our dancers in great shape, and continue with their ongoing skill development!  This also gives us an opportunity to prepare for local events, including participation in local St. Andrew's Night and Robbie Burns Nights which are quickly approaching!

We post regular studio notices and updates on our Sim School of Highland Dance (members only) facebook page.  Please consider joining or facebook page to stay current on studio news, upcoming shows, and schedule updates.

We are excited to be presenting a Christmas-themed show this December, giving our families, friends and local community an opportunity to see our dancers perform! Please consider reaching out if you are interested in tickets!
