Giving Back

We are firm believers that we all have a responsibility to give back to our community. No one becomes successful without lots of hard work and support from family, friends and others in our community.  We encourage our dancers to participate in community events, and perform shows for local organizations, where they can share their talents and their love for dance!

“Your hands are born open, and so is your heart;

and though there may be times when your hands are empty,

 your heart is always full, and you can give things out of that.”
― Frances Hodgson Burnett

We are also proud to help support, promote and enrich the sport of highland dance, sponsoring dance competitions, and local highland games events!

Celebrating a special friend of the Highland Dance Community

Tribute to Bill Neufeld, Embro Highland Games 2017

Bill Neufeld and his wife Cheryl own 'Creative Designs' - a supplier of highland dance supplies, clothing, shoes, music and other necessities for our sport. They attend many Highland Games and Dance Competitions, being in the right place at the right time to save the day for many dancers over the years.  They were awarded Honorary lieftime memberships in the Highland Dance Association of Ontario in 2015.

In the spring of 2017, we were saddened to learn that Bill has passed away.  He was a long time supporter of our local Embro Highland Games, and often donated participation gifts for the youngest of our dancers.

He is fondly remembered as an important part of the highland dance community, and as a friend to the Embro Highland Games and to our dancers!

In his memory, Sim School of Highland Dance was pleased to create hand-made 'Canada 150' primary gifts, and donate them in Bill's memory.  We were thrilled to have Cheryl join us to hand out these special gifts to the 2017 Primary Dancers!
