Sim School of Highland Dance
Established 1991
Instructing all dancers in a positive, team-spirited learning environment.
Advocating success through the encouragement of perseverance, self confidence and integrity.
Celebrating over 30 years of highland dance!
Performances
During the year, our dancers perform several shows in our Community and throughout Southwestern Ontario. Dance shows give our new dancers an opportunity to gain confidence on the stage, and demonstrate their talents in front of a receptive audience. These shows are also a great opportunity for our more experienced dancers to work with and mentor our younger dancers!
Families are encouraged to check the dance board in the Parents Loft to sign up for upcoming Show and Performance opportunities. Our Sim School of Highland Dance Facebook Group page also provides updates on upcoming Shows and Performances.

Year End Recital
June 2019
Our 2018-2019 Year End Recital was held in the Western Counties Wing Auditorium at Parkwood Hospital in London. We were thrilled to share a mix of traditional and choreographed dance numbers to our friend, family and veterans in attendance.
It was a great opportunity for the dancers to show off all the hard work they have put into Highland Dance in 2018-2019!
A Silver Christmas
25th Anniversary Show - 2015
"I have held the hands and hearts of hundreds of children. They have all had a story in my own heart, as they all have such special gifts to offer through their involvement in dance. I believe that I was put here not only to share my love of dance, but also to show children what life skills they could build upon with its discipline.
Perseverance, friendship, goal setting, and hard work are a few of the lessons I know I have passed along the way.
I have spent over a decade with many of my students and we have all grown together. I have learned as much from my students as I have given to them. I love staying in touch after the dancing is over….these kids mean the world to me." Sherry Sim
Celtic Inspirations
20th Anniversary Show - 2011
In 2011, the Studio was excited to celebrate its 20th Anniversary! The show was entitled "Celtic Inspiration" and was held with 3 full-house performances at the Old Town Hall Theatre in Embro. Approximately 75 dancers performed in the show!
Celtic Christmas
15th Anniversary Show - 2006
What better way to celebrate the Dance School's 15th Anniversary, but to put on a Christmas show! The show was entitled "Celtic Christmas" and included traditional Highland Dance and choreographed dances to some of our favourite Christmas music!
Stirling Thistles
For large venues, we are pleased to have our Senior Group known as the Sterling Thistles. These dancers combine to form a professional, courteous dance troupe.
This energetic group has entertained audiences of 1000+ including at the Canada Summer Games Main Stage Show with Amy Sky, Two Performances for the Government of Ontario, Year of the Volunteer, and the Victoria Cross Tattoo.
Our dancers were recently awarded 5th in the 2015 ScotDance Canada Championship Series!
